Access from the Barrage

At the present time, public access is not possible through the port of Cardiff and you cannot walk or cycle between the Inner Harbour and the Barrage Embankment. However, during the summer months the road train carries passengers through this area.

Bay Edge Walkway

One of the priorities of the Harbour Authority is to create a Bay Edge Walkway, which will provide a pedestrian and cycle link from the Barrage to the Inner Harbour and around the rest of the Bay.  The Harbour Authority is working in partnership with the adjacent landowners to achieve this aim.

There are also alternative ways of getting to the Bay and Barrage such as the Bay Car and Water Bus.
