 HOME

Cardiff, the Capital of Wales is one of the UK’s most popular visitor destinations. It’s known for its cultural, sporting, artistic and maritime traditions and we are delighted that more and more people are discovering our city and its waterfront.

Cardiff Bay, the Barrage, Inner and Outer Harbours and parts of the Rivers Taff and Ely are all successfully managed by Cardiff Harbour Authority as part of Cardiff Council.

From Easter onwards the Harbour Authority delivers an exciting calendar of local, national and international water and land based events for visitors and residents of Cardiff to enjoy. With a diverse mix of internationally acclaimed visitor attractions, activities and entertainment, Cardiff Bay has a truly unique atmosphere. Please visit the forthcoming events page or latest news sections for further details.

The Bay continues to attract boat users, with two well established yacht clubs, two marinas and several commercial marine-related businesses. There are over 1000 resident vessels moored in the Bay and this figure is rising year on year. In addition, a number of berths are available for visiting boats, enabling our maritime visitors to experience the city’s many attractions not to mention the warm welsh welcome of our cosmopolitan capital.

The Bay continues to thrive and in 2006 the International Sports Village site commenced construction. The new ice rink, retail developments and international sized swimming pool are now open, and an Olympic-standard canoe slalom facility and other  major waterfront developments are planned.

The Cardiff Bay Water Activity Centre which was opened in 2005 also offers a full programme of water sports activities and courses throughout the year and is well worth a visit. www.adventurecardiff.com

Along with fantastic restaurants and bars in the Inner Harbour, and the Barrage offering great walks and fantastic views of the Bay, there has never been a better time to visit Cardiff Bay.

We look forward to welcoming you to Cardiff Bay in 2008.
